Life...Jobs...and Budgies :)

Wow, so I haven't posted in nearly two flippin' months! Its not like I've been overly busy, I'm on the hunt for a job now, but not much else going on. My wrist has pretty much healed after the operation, job hunting is horrible! You have to fill in awful application forms, some of which have really daft multiple choice questions, then you hand it in and wait...and wait...and wait.
I do have my four lovely budgies to keep me occupied though, they make me smile everyday with their crazy antics. I'm trying to get them to like fruit and veggies, so far only two of them, Milo and Lola, will eat them, and they've only really liked grapes, they eat out all the middle and leave the skin lol. I am officially budgie obsessed! They are making an awful mess though, what with the cage being in my bedroom it feels like an endless battle against all the seeds and poop and feathers. I need to have a big clear out in my bedroom before christmas. Maybe I should follow "Flylady" and take photos and post my progress on here, I need something to motivate me. Oh and if you haven't heard of Flylady then google her, she is great, she's from the U.S and encourages thousands of women all over the world to keep chaos out of their houses.
Right now, as I'm typing this obviously, I'm watching Ugly Betty, I can't believe its the last EVER season! *insert tears here* and I have a little dog curled up next to me, breathing her stinky breath on me lol.
So...I have no cards to show :( my creative mojo has left the building. Its very frustrating, I have lots of lovely cardmaking stuff upstairs but if I sit down to make a card they turn out...well rubbish. I will persevere though  :)
I am still checking out the wonderful WOYWW though, everyone's desks are great to look at, I like having a good nosey around, and I'm hoping it'll give me inspiration.

WOYWW post with budgies!

So I've been awol for a while, sorry about that x Hmm so what's new? I had the operation on my wrist and its healing nicely although I don't have much strength or flexibility in it but I'm working on that. I've been spending lots of time with friends which is good :) Oh and I have two more additions to my budgie family, Milo & Milly, I do have a couple of photos of them but I'm not too happy with them because Milo & Milly do everything they can to get away from the scary camera lol. I do have lots of new photos of Ozzie & Lola though, the little posers so I thought I'd be a obsessed budgie mummy and post them on here so bear wiith me lol. I know its not exactly WOYWW related but their cage is practically next to my desk so thats my rationalising :D If you've happened upon my blog by accident and you're thinking"what the hell is WOYWW??" well its when all us crafters get together and share photo's of our desks with each other because lets face it crafters are nosey lol. So first up is Ozzie, my gorgeous little man, he's about three years old and makes me smile every day.

WOYWW!

Quite late in the day I know but its still Wednesday hehe. I haven't posted in a while, things have been busy with appointments etc, plus lack of energy for some reason. Anywho, to make up for it I'm going to post two, yes TWO photos of my desk, one taken today, minutes ago, and one from this weekend, so its technically a whats on your workdesk weekend! Ha! someone should set that group up lol so we can all be doubley (is that a word?) nosey :D Enough talk from me, I've decided to simply let the photo's do the talking today (and yes I realise I've just written a long paragraph, but thats not about my desk so nerh! lol)

WOYWW with a twist!

And i'm back again :) No crafting this week I'm afraid, just doesn't seem to have happened. But I do have a few idea's up my sleeve (hypothetical sleeve lol) Anyway, one of the reasons I've been quite busy is because I've got a new baby, a baby budgie that is lol. So i figured as there was nothing interesting to show on my desk, card-making wise, that I'd show you her:

I didn't realise how filthy my laptop is, its a dell inspiron and its all shiny plastic so fingerprints show up like mad. I'll definitely be cleaning it today!

Here's a closer picture of "baby budgie" yep thats what I've been calling her, I got her on Sunday and still haven't decided on a name! There have been a few possibles, Skye, Dotty, Dory (as in the blue fish from finding nemo lol) but still can't decide. So if anyone has any suggestions they will be gratefully received :)

And yet again I remember to post whoo! I think Mrs Julia Dunnit is having a good effect on me :) So thank you Julia. As promised I'm going to show you my new ikea things, I got a bygel rail and tub things and these cute little glass jars. Taa Daa!

They aren't sloping, its me and my photography lol.

Now I'm off to tidy my Dad's garage for him, although he may fall out with me when he can't find anything lol. Later I'm going to have a good nosey around everyone elses blogs. I managed to get through all 100 and something of the entries for WOYWW, even if I didn't comment on all of them!

I haven't done anything for the anniversary though, sorry, I only joined a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a clue what to make. Next year though :)

Shopping Trip!

I went to Ikea yesterday, after finally managing to persuade my dad to take me. I really wanted to get one of those rails and the plastic tub things that go on it. I've seen some fantastic craft rooms with them. I also bought 4 little glass jars that were a bargain :) You'll get to see my new things on wednesday of course :)

Here's a get well soon card I made for my mum's friend/ my friends mum, Jackie. She hasn't been too well, and spent a few days in hospital but I think she's on the mend now. I made this last Sunday but have only just got round to posting it. My mum still hasn't seen her to give it to her lol, as I only finished making it after they'd been to visit her last.

WOYWW

I'm on time this week, even if I didn't enter last week because of me stressing over an mri scan on my wrist I was due to have. It went fine by the way, but I wont get the results for a while yet.

So here it is:

Not vey exciting looking, I know. There's the start of a card there, I'm using some freebie papers from a magazine, and a stamp I got off ebay for about a quid :) You can also see Mr. & Mrs Snail on the right lol. The piles of books at the back are ones that I've bought and read recently, just need to decide whether to keep any of them or donate them all to charity. Hmm...what else..there are some car-shaped post-its at the back which I saw and had to buy! The white tub at the back used to have jelly diamonds in but now I use it to put my used wetwipes in so stop them from marking anything.

And here is the other half of the desk, I had trouble fitting it all in one shot, its not actualy that big a desk though, pretty standard really.

On this side you can see my desk tidy, keeps all the bits and bobs together otherwise I'd spend more time looking for rulers and pencils than actually making anything. Theres also a cupcake card I made on Sunday, I'll upload a proper photo of that later. What else? Theres a glass and a cup lol at the bottom left, I always seem to have at least one on my desk, oh and my glasses are there too. Plus my xbox, which I bought from ebay yet I've only played on it twice as it makes my wrist hurt.

Now I'm off to have a shower and get dressed, then I'll be having a nosey round everyone elses crafty spaces :)

WOYWW (a day late...)

Yes I know, bad me, I managed to go for one whole week before I missed whats on your workdesk wednesday, but I've decided who cares if its a day late as long as the other WOWWYer's get to see my craft area. Right?

So I haven't really done much crafting this week so to show a photo of my desk would be extremely boring, and I remember someone commenting (Julia I think, but I could be wrong) last week that I would need more drawers than the tiny red ones my stamps are in so I thought I'd show that I have many, many drawers lol. Here are three, that are a filing cabinet.

This is the top drawer which has all my stamped images, card, mirri card, paper stacks etc. The post-it notes are my way are knowing whats in which file lol, I keep meaning to make proper tags for them.

This one has random things in like sketch pads, books, a sentiment stamp set my dad got me from America, and a lot of my embellishments which I really need to start using up lol. I think I need to re-organise my craft stuff again. *sighs*

Finally, this is my bottom drawer. Theres another sketch pad on top there lol, I seem to have several. In the purple box there is a load of card blanks and envelopes.  That box thats peeping out in the top right corner has a stapler in it that uses those decorative staples. I bought it at the stitch and creative craft show thinking it was brilliant but I've barely used it.

Oh and I know I said I haven't really done any crafty stuff but I did add paper to the front of some ikea drawers I bought ages ago. I put all random bits from my room in them, like my ipod and d.s chargers and so on. I think its really pretty now lol, can't believe it took me so long to do it, I might still paint the outside of the drawers yet though. xx

Hi all, I've just been to our nearby polling station and placed my vote. I won't tell you who I voted for because thats the whole point of secret voting :) All I'll say is that I believe that I made the right choice but only time will tell. Right now I'm watching home and away, where Miles has gone off his rocker!

Anyway, here is a card I made the other week.

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the card base, and my EK border punch. The budgies are a pic from a cardmakers library book that I traced, there are so many lovely pictures in the book, I'll definitely be using more of them.

The image on this one is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie called Charlotte, I'm loving Kimmie's stamps, I only have two but I plan to buy many, many more. I also used my new nesties on it. The paper is from a old stack I have, and goodness knows where the ribbon is from lol. I have a habit of forgetting what brand things are and I can't be faffed to go upstairs and find out.

My first ever WOYWW!

I am proud of me remembering that its Wednesday and taking a photo of my desk so I can participate in "Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday" Go me!! lol I meant to do it last week but the days got away from me. So here it is:

Okay so top right-hand corner are my little red plastic drawers which have my wood mounted stamps in, and the bus shaped tin which I put my latest made cards into. Also you'll be able to see the little snail :) Its one of those wind-up ones. Um at the back in the middle theres my promarker case, I love those pens, they're the first things I grab when making a card. Top left is my pen holder thing that has all my rulers, scissors, pens, kinfes etc in it. The teddy bear in a car stamp is one my mum bought from hobbycrafts on monday, but i've sort of acquired it lol, all the other pics are images I've stamped, theres Kraftin Kimmie's Suzette, a mouse stamp, and several others. Oh and I bought some quilling strips because I want to try and make a quilled cupcake I saw in a magazine.

Here's a photo of the things I got from Hobbycraft with a voucher I got for my birthday, I only went a tiny bit over :) lol.

Is in the middle of...

...tidying her desk. Why is it that because of my desk and crafty area being in my bedroom that it becomes a dumping ground? Hmmm I think I just answered my own question lol. So now I need to put it all away so I can photograph the cards that I have made recently, and then make some new ones with my recent crafty buys, including the lovely Kate Knight papers I got with a magazine today, and a flowersoft stamp (won't be actually using flowersoft with it though lol) that I bought from a car boot when I was away in the caravan this weekend with my mum and dad. Oh and the gorgeous mousey stamp my mum got my for my birthday which was on Friday. I also plan to join WOYWW (whats on your workdesk wednesday) a fantastic blog where every wednesday craft bloggers from all over the world show photos of their craft areas/rooms/desks. I tell you I am so envious of some of the ones I see. I won't come out with the usual mumbo jumbo about promising to post more reguarly, but I'm going to at least attempt to post more than once in a blue moon.
