WOYWW with a twist!

And i'm back again :) No crafting this week I'm afraid, just doesn't seem to have happened. But I do have a few idea's up my sleeve (hypothetical sleeve lol) Anyway, one of the reasons I've been quite busy is because I've got a new baby, a baby budgie that is lol. So i figured as there was nothing interesting to show on my desk, card-making wise, that I'd show you her:

I didn't realise how filthy my laptop is, its a dell inspiron and its all shiny plastic so fingerprints show up like mad. I'll definitely be cleaning it today!

Here's a closer picture of "baby budgie" yep thats what I've been calling her, I got her on Sunday and still haven't decided on a name! There have been a few possibles, Skye, Dotty, Dory (as in the blue fish from finding nemo lol) but still can't decide. So if anyone has any suggestions they will be gratefully received :)

And yet again I remember to post whoo! I think Mrs Julia Dunnit is having a good effect on me :) So thank you Julia. As promised I'm going to show you my new ikea things, I got a bygel rail and tub things and these cute little glass jars. Taa Daa!

They aren't sloping, its me and my photography lol.

Now I'm off to tidy my Dad's garage for him, although he may fall out with me when he can't find anything lol. Later I'm going to have a good nosey around everyone elses blogs. I managed to get through all 100 and something of the entries for WOYWW, even if I didn't comment on all of them!

I haven't done anything for the anniversary though, sorry, I only joined a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a clue what to make. Next year though :)

Shopping Trip!

I went to Ikea yesterday, after finally managing to persuade my dad to take me. I really wanted to get one of those rails and the plastic tub things that go on it. I've seen some fantastic craft rooms with them. I also bought 4 little glass jars that were a bargain :) You'll get to see my new things on wednesday of course :)

Here's a get well soon card I made for my mum's friend/ my friends mum, Jackie. She hasn't been too well, and spent a few days in hospital but I think she's on the mend now. I made this last Sunday but have only just got round to posting it. My mum still hasn't seen her to give it to her lol, as I only finished making it after they'd been to visit her last.

WOYWW

I'm on time this week, even if I didn't enter last week because of me stressing over an mri scan on my wrist I was due to have. It went fine by the way, but I wont get the results for a while yet.

So here it is:

Not vey exciting looking, I know. There's the start of a card there, I'm using some freebie papers from a magazine, and a stamp I got off ebay for about a quid :) You can also see Mr. & Mrs Snail on the right lol. The piles of books at the back are ones that I've bought and read recently, just need to decide whether to keep any of them or donate them all to charity. Hmm...what else..there are some car-shaped post-its at the back which I saw and had to buy! The white tub at the back used to have jelly diamonds in but now I use it to put my used wetwipes in so stop them from marking anything.

And here is the other half of the desk, I had trouble fitting it all in one shot, its not actualy that big a desk though, pretty standard really.

On this side you can see my desk tidy, keeps all the bits and bobs together otherwise I'd spend more time looking for rulers and pencils than actually making anything. Theres also a cupcake card I made on Sunday, I'll upload a proper photo of that later. What else? Theres a glass and a cup lol at the bottom left, I always seem to have at least one on my desk, oh and my glasses are there too. Plus my xbox, which I bought from ebay yet I've only played on it twice as it makes my wrist hurt.

Now I'm off to have a shower and get dressed, then I'll be having a nosey round everyone elses crafty spaces :)

WOYWW (a day late...)

Yes I know, bad me, I managed to go for one whole week before I missed whats on your workdesk wednesday, but I've decided who cares if its a day late as long as the other WOWWYer's get to see my craft area. Right?

So I haven't really done much crafting this week so to show a photo of my desk would be extremely boring, and I remember someone commenting (Julia I think, but I could be wrong) last week that I would need more drawers than the tiny red ones my stamps are in so I thought I'd show that I have many, many drawers lol. Here are three, that are a filing cabinet.

This is the top drawer which has all my stamped images, card, mirri card, paper stacks etc. The post-it notes are my way are knowing whats in which file lol, I keep meaning to make proper tags for them.

This one has random things in like sketch pads, books, a sentiment stamp set my dad got me from America, and a lot of my embellishments which I really need to start using up lol. I think I need to re-organise my craft stuff again. *sighs*

Finally, this is my bottom drawer. Theres another sketch pad on top there lol, I seem to have several. In the purple box there is a load of card blanks and envelopes.  That box thats peeping out in the top right corner has a stapler in it that uses those decorative staples. I bought it at the stitch and creative craft show thinking it was brilliant but I've barely used it.

Oh and I know I said I haven't really done any crafty stuff but I did add paper to the front of some ikea drawers I bought ages ago. I put all random bits from my room in them, like my ipod and d.s chargers and so on. I think its really pretty now lol, can't believe it took me so long to do it, I might still paint the outside of the drawers yet though. xx
