Wow I haven't joined in for over two months, feel free to rap my knuckles :P So without aimless rambling here is my desk.

Wow, so I haven't posted in nearly two flippin' months! Its not like I've been overly busy, I'm on the hunt for a job now, but not much else going on. My wrist has pretty much healed after the operation, job hunting is horrible! You have to fill in awful application forms, some of which have really daft multiple choice questions, then you hand it in and wait...and wait...and wait.
I do have my four lovely budgies to keep me occupied though, they make me smile everyday with their crazy antics. I'm trying to get them to like fruit and veggies, so far only two of them, Milo and Lola, will eat them, and they've only really liked grapes, they eat out all the middle and leave the skin lol. I am officially budgie obsessed! They are making an awful mess though, what with the cage being in my bedroom it feels like an endless battle against all the seeds and poop and feathers. I need to have a big clear out in my bedroom before christmas. Maybe I should follow "Flylady" and take photos and post my progress on here, I need something to motivate me. Oh and if you haven't heard of Flylady then google her, she is great, she's from the U.S and encourages thousands of women all over the world to keep chaos out of their houses.
Right now, as I'm typing this obviously, I'm watching Ugly Betty, I can't believe its the last EVER season! *insert tears here* and I have a little dog curled up next to me, breathing her stinky breath on me lol.
So...I have no cards to show :( my creative mojo has left the building. Its very frustrating, I have lots of lovely cardmaking stuff upstairs but if I sit down to make a card they turn out...well rubbish. I will persevere though :)
I am still checking out the wonderful WOYWW though, everyone's desks are great to look at, I like having a good nosey around, and I'm hoping it'll give me inspiration.

WOYWW post with budgies!

So I've been awol for a while, sorry about that x Hmm so what's new? I had the operation on my wrist and its healing nicely although I don't have much strength or flexibility in it but I'm working on that. I've been spending lots of time with friends which is good :) Oh and I have two more additions to my budgie family, Milo & Milly, I do have a couple of photos of them but I'm not too happy with them because Milo & Milly do everything they can to get away from the scary camera lol. I do have lots of new photos of Ozzie & Lola though, the little posers so I thought I'd be a obsessed budgie mummy and post them on here so bear wiith me lol. I know its not exactly WOYWW related but their cage is practically next to my desk so thats my rationalising :D If you've happened upon my blog by accident and you're thinking"what the hell is WOYWW??" well its when all us crafters get together and share photo's of our desks with each other because lets face it crafters are nosey lol. So first up is Ozzie, my gorgeous little man, he's about three years old and makes me smile every day.

Next up is my pudgey Lola who usually looks grumpy in her photographs lol.

And here are the newest two Milly (the green one) and Milo (who is yellow) I plan on taking better photos of them once they trust me more but I can't resist showing them off lol.

Quite late in the day I know but its still Wednesday hehe. I haven't posted in a while, things have been busy with appointments etc, plus lack of energy for some reason. Anywho, to make up for it I'm going to post two, yes TWO photos of my desk, one taken today, minutes ago, and one from this weekend, so its technically a whats on your workdesk weekend! Ha! someone should set that group up lol so we can all be doubley (is that a word?) nosey :D Enough talk from me, I've decided to simply let the photo's do the talking today (and yes I realise I've just written a long paragraph, but thats not about my desk so nerh! lol)

WOYWW with a twist!

And i'm back again :) No crafting this week I'm afraid, just doesn't seem to have happened. But I do have a few idea's up my sleeve (hypothetical sleeve lol) Anyway, one of the reasons I've been quite busy is because I've got a new baby, a baby budgie that is lol. So i figured as there was nothing interesting to show on my desk, card-making wise, that I'd show you her:

I didn't realise how filthy my laptop is, its a dell inspiron and its all shiny plastic so fingerprints show up like mad. I'll definitely be cleaning it today!

Here's a closer picture of "baby budgie" yep thats what I've been calling her, I got her on Sunday and still haven't decided on a name! There have been a few possibles, Skye, Dotty, Dory (as in the blue fish from finding nemo lol) but still can't decide. So if anyone has any suggestions they will be gratefully received :)

And yet again I remember to post whoo! I think Mrs Julia Dunnit is having a good effect on me :) So thank you Julia. As promised I'm going to show you my new ikea things, I got a bygel rail and tub things and these cute little glass jars. Taa Daa!

They aren't sloping, its me and my photography lol.

Now I'm off to tidy my Dad's garage for him, although he may fall out with me when he can't find anything lol. Later I'm going to have a good nosey around everyone elses blogs. I managed to get through all 100 and something of the entries for WOYWW, even if I didn't comment on all of them!

I haven't done anything for the anniversary though, sorry, I only joined a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a clue what to make. Next year though :)

I went to Ikea yesterday, after finally managing to persuade my dad to take me. I really wanted to get one of those rails and the plastic tub things that go on it. I've seen some fantastic craft rooms with them. I also bought 4 little glass jars that were a bargain :) You'll get to see my new things on wednesday of course :)

Here's a get well soon card I made for my mum's friend/ my friends mum, Jackie. She hasn't been too well, and spent a few days in hospital but I think she's on the mend now. I made this last Sunday but have only just got round to posting it. My mum still hasn't seen her to give it to her lol, as I only finished making it after they'd been to visit her last.

I'm on time this week, even if I didn't enter last week because of me stressing over an mri scan on my wrist I was due to have. It went fine by the way, but I wont get the results for a while yet.

So here it is:

Not vey exciting looking, I know. There's the start of a card there, I'm using some freebie papers from a magazine, and a stamp I got off ebay for about a quid :) You can also see Mr. & Mrs Snail on the right lol. The piles of books at the back are ones that I've bought and read recently, just need to decide whether to keep any of them or donate them all to charity. Hmm...what else..there are some car-shaped post-its at the back which I saw and had to buy! The white tub at the back used to have jelly diamonds in but now I use it to put my used wetwipes in so stop them from marking anything.

And here is the other half of the desk, I had trouble fitting it all in one shot, its not actualy that big a desk though, pretty standard really.

On this side you can see my desk tidy, keeps all the bits and bobs together otherwise I'd spend more time looking for rulers and pencils than actually making anything. Theres also a cupcake card I made on Sunday, I'll upload a proper photo of that later. What else? Theres a glass and a cup lol at the bottom left, I always seem to have at least one on my desk, oh and my glasses are there too. Plus my xbox, which I bought from ebay yet I've only played on it twice as it makes my wrist hurt.

Now I'm off to have a shower and get dressed, then I'll be having a nosey round everyone elses crafty spaces :)

WOYWW (a day late...)

Yes I know, bad me, I managed to go for one whole week before I missed whats on your workdesk wednesday, but I've decided who cares if its a day late as long as the other WOWWYer's get to see my craft area. Right?

So I haven't really done much crafting this week so to show a photo of my desk would be extremely boring, and I remember someone commenting (Julia I think, but I could be wrong) last week that I would need more drawers than the tiny red ones my stamps are in so I thought I'd show that I have many, many drawers lol. Here are three, that are a filing cabinet.

This is the top drawer which has all my stamped images, card, mirri card, paper stacks etc. The post-it notes are my way are knowing whats in which file lol, I keep meaning to make proper tags for them.

This one has random things in like sketch pads, books, a sentiment stamp set my dad got me from America, and a lot of my embellishments which I really need to start using up lol. I think I need to re-organise my craft stuff again. *sighs*

Finally, this is my bottom drawer. Theres another sketch pad on top there lol, I seem to have several. In the purple box there is a load of card blanks and envelopes. That box thats peeping out in the top right corner has a stapler in it that uses those decorative staples. I bought it at the stitch and creative craft show thinking it was brilliant but I've barely used it.

Oh and I know I said I haven't really done any crafty stuff but I did add paper to the front of some ikea drawers I bought ages ago. I put all random bits from my room in them, like my ipod and d.s chargers and so on. I think its really pretty now lol, can't believe it took me so long to do it, I might still paint the outside of the drawers yet though. xx

Hi all, I've just been to our nearby polling station and placed my vote. I won't tell you who I voted for because thats the whole point of secret voting :) All I'll say is that I believe that I made the right choice but only time will tell. Right now I'm watching home and away, where Miles has gone off his rocker!

Anyway, here is a card I made the other week.

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the card base, and my EK border punch. The budgies are a pic from a cardmakers library book that I traced, there are so many lovely pictures in the book, I'll definitely be using more of them.

The image on this one is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie called Charlotte, I'm loving Kimmie's stamps, I only have two but I plan to buy many, many more. I also used my new nesties on it. The paper is from a old stack I have, and goodness knows where the ribbon is from lol. I have a habit of forgetting what brand things are and I can't be faffed to go upstairs and find out.

I am proud of me remembering that its Wednesday and taking a photo of my desk so I can participate in "Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday" Go me!! lol I meant to do it last week but the days got away from me. So here it is:

Okay so top right-hand corner are my little red plastic drawers which have my wood mounted stamps in, and the bus shaped tin which I put my latest made cards into. Also you'll be able to see the little snail :) Its one of those wind-up ones. Um at the back in the middle theres my promarker case, I love those pens, they're the first things I grab when making a card. Top left is my pen holder thing that has all my rulers, scissors, pens, kinfes etc in it. The teddy bear in a car stamp is one my mum bought from hobbycrafts on monday, but i've sort of acquired it lol, all the other pics are images I've stamped, theres Kraftin Kimmie's Suzette, a mouse stamp, and several others. Oh and I bought some quilling strips because I want to try and make a quilled cupcake I saw in a magazine.

Here's a photo of the things I got from Hobbycraft with a voucher I got for my birthday, I only went a tiny bit over :) lol.

Is in the middle of...

...tidying her desk. Why is it that because of my desk and crafty area being in my bedroom that it becomes a dumping ground? Hmmm I think I just answered my own question lol. So now I need to put it all away so I can photograph the cards that I have made recently, and then make some new ones with my recent crafty buys, including the lovely Kate Knight papers I got with a magazine today, and a flowersoft stamp (won't be actually using flowersoft with it though lol) that I bought from a car boot when I was away in the caravan this weekend with my mum and dad. Oh and the gorgeous mousey stamp my mum got my for my birthday which was on Friday. I also plan to join WOYWW (whats on your workdesk wednesday) a fantastic blog where every wednesday craft bloggers from all over the world show photos of their craft areas/rooms/desks. I tell you I am so envious of some of the ones I see. I won't come out with the usual mumbo jumbo about promising to post more reguarly, but I'm going to at least attempt to post more than once in a blue moon.

I'm actually getting organised!

I've got a craft desk, I've got a craft desk!! I kept going green with envy everytime I saw other crafters craft rooms/ areas, so I finally got off my butt and did something about it. I got a simple desk and a wooden filing cabinet to help me get organised. I'm not quite there yet but Ihave got to the point where if I need something I can usually find it within seconds. I've found so much stuff that I forgot that I had! Its shocking. Plus I'm enjoying doing lots of stamping, something which I used to find frustrating because the stamped images would never come out clear enough. I invested in a brilliant ink pad and now I'm zooming :)
Tomorrow I will take a photo of my crafty area (might have to tidy it a bit first lol) and some of my new cards. Fun fun. xx

Do you know I tend to get annoyed when someone who's crafty blog I'm watching just ceases to post anything all today. Ironic I know, considering thats what I've been doing, I guess life in general gets in the way. Anyhow on the off chance that anyone actually reads my blog, I felt the need to pop onto here and say hello. I have actually made two cards today, one for my mum and dads wedding anniversary on the 15th, with a cute and the other for my grandads 70th Birthday, although I'm not too sure if i like it or not, theres either something missing or its simply too blah. I'll post them as soon as I take photos with my camera.

Here are a few more cards I've made lately, the first being one I dont want to give away because its so shinnnyyyy lol! I got the decoupage from a craft fair at Bolton (I've still got three more but I'm reluctant to cut them up lol), and the paper from a set I bought at Hobbycraft, I'm not sure of the make, I'll look it up when I get a chance, but there are some gorgeous, bright colours there.

This one was for my Dad's birthday (obviously!) I told you that you'd be seeing more big letter / number cards. I'm not very good at mens cards, they always seem boring to me, but I really liked making this one.

And onto some non-craftyness, I cleaned out my little goldfishes tank this morning, it had horrible fungus stuff on the glass of the tank, so i emptied a fair bit of the water out then wiped the sides of the tank. Its a nice, clean home for fish now. Now I'm just catching up on Neighbours while updating this and my others sites.

I made the card below for my mum when she had to go into hospital for an operation. She's now well on her way to recovery. I seem to be into making bright cards lately, plus I love the little ladybugs I got from a website.

As Promised...

As I promised several weeks ago I have finally got round to taking photos of the new cards I have made. I won't post them all at once but over the next few days they'll start appearing.

Now...which one to show first?

My mum bought her very first stamp from a site called one stop card crafts. I recommend checking it out, they're good prices plus you get a minimum of 10% discount off your order no matter how little you spend. Ramble over, anyway this is a Jollynation stamp and we both liked it because we have a caravan and go camping, although not as much as we used to. Its perfect for my grandma and grandad too as they love going away in their caravan.

This one I made a couple of months ago for a friend, Chloe, who turned 18. I really enjoyed making this card, its different from my usual style. You'll be seeing a fair few more of these no doubt.

Busy, busy, busy

I have bought SO much craft stuff in the past few weeks its unbelievable! I haven't even got round to using half of them. I have made a fair few cards though, and I'll finish taking photos of them and if I can find my camera wire I'll be posting them here very soon.

I went to a craft and gift fair at Reebok Stadium in horwich last sunday, it was quite small but that wasn't a bad thing as there was some good quality stuff there (I spent too much lol).

I think its a crafters curse, spending too much money!

Oh and i have finally taken the plunge and bought....wait for it...a Cuttlebug!!!! And some lovely dies and embossing folders to go with it. I keep checking the site to see the status on the order. I cant wait! I've wanted one for quite a while but was put off by the prices. But then i found a site called Crafts at home, where its only £49.99!

Anyway thought I'd better post something on my blog as I've been neglecting it quite a bit. I'll try to show my new cards soon I promise.

Stitch & Creative Craft Show at Manchester!

Yes thats where I went today and loved it! Well okay to be fair it was packed with people which made it hard to actually get to look at the stalls properly sometimes, it involved several trips round the hall lol, but I still enjoyed myself and spent lots of pennies! One woman gave me some advice, she said to leave my manners at the door and just push in. Then she let me go in a queue infront of her which I found funny!

I'll be making lots of cards with my new crafty stuff soon, I'm also planning on making a bunch of Valentines cards and persuading my boss to let me sell them at the shop. I've never bothered with Valentines day cards before so it should be fun.

I'm knackered from today so I wont write a list of what I bought, but it involves lots of paper, card, peel offs and gorgeous decoupage dragons. God I cant wait. Hey come to think of it why am I? I'm off!

I know we're three quarters of the way through January, but seeing as its my first post of 2009 I want to wish everyone a happy new year.

Now I have a few plans for this year, and I hope I can be successful in all of them.

Get a new job

I, quite frankly, am sick of my job. I dont seem to get any respect from my bosses, I can work my ass off every night, and they only bring up negative things, instead of giving me kudos for my good work. I'm finding myself having to do jobs that other co workers claim to have done, because if I dont then I get lectured on it, even though its not a fault, and quite frankly its driving me crazy. The only reason I've stayed working there for so long, to be honest, is because I've got too comfy there. I need a new challenge, I need to work somewhere where I'm appreciated and not treated like a useless lump. If I could quit right now and walk away and concentrate on my avon for a while and look for a new job then I would. But I'd dissapoint my dad and he'd be mad at me.

Pass my driving test

Well I need to get the courage to book it first! I've been hurt too much when I've failed it and I really dont want to do that again, but i DO know I CAN pass the test, I just need to go for it. Arghh! Positivity all the way, right?!

There is plenty more but those are the main two, and if I dont do them then I'm gonna go loopy lol.

Oh and I also promise to do lots and lots and lots of crafting and card making this year, and to keep my blog updated.

All Avon Orders delivered!

I've finally got all the Avon orders out! I delivered the last one last night so now I need to go to the bank and pay in the money.

I spent over an hour last night walking round with another girl and this dog that she'd found sat outside her house. We were trying to track down the owner to return the dog, which we managed eventually, although what annoyed me is that the people who owned it didnt even notice it was missing. If my dog was missing for more than 5 seconds I'd be panicking and searching the streets, let alone over an hour. God some people shouldnt be allowed dogs. She was such a lovely labrador too. Grr.

Now I promise I will be making some cards soon, I just never seem to find the time! Maybe I should stay off here for a while and make cards instead lol. Anyway I've got a driving lesson at 2pm which will hopefully go okay.

My Weekend

Gosh there's so much that happened this weekend I dont quite know where to start. Okay, on friday, my mum and I went out a bought a nintendo wii, and its great fun lol! We also wanted the wii fit board, but they were out of stock in argos, and today I've checked every website I can think of, and EVERYWHERE is out of stock. How crazy is that! Now on saturday myself, my mum, dad, my aunt, uncle, and cousins, (from america) went out for the day together. We went to a place called Claughton, to a pub there called the Fenwick Arms. If anyone has watched Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares, where he goes to sort out failing pubs and restuarants, well the Fenwick Arms was one of those. I'd say it was a fairly good meal, although they do need to change the menu a bit, not everyone likes salmon etc. I had a cheese baguette which was yummy but I only managed to eat half of it lol! The others had fish and chips or Roast beef and yorkshire puds. I'm telling you those puds are the biggest I have ever seen! According to Gordon Ramsey they're the best he's ever had. I cant vouch for that as i didnt have them but they looked good. Then we got to meet and have a looooonnnggg chat with the owner, and head chef, Brian Rey, and my aunt and uncle had a photo taken with him. He also gave us a magazine with an article about him in it, his campaign for "real gravy" which was all over the menu's lol! Here's the magazine, and a napkin ring thing which i brought home. Then we went into Skipton, where the market was on, which was pretty good, and I found a gorgeous Craft shop called The Stamp man, I could have spent hours in there but i wasn't allowed! I manged to limit myself and just buy a stamp and some peel-offs. I haven't got a photo of the peel-offs to post here, but they were of funny geisha's and chinese dragons. I'll take one soon I promise or i'll make a card with them. I also found out they have a website so even better! www.thestampman.co.uk. Anyway the stamp I bought is lovely its of a woman, I think its called Cassandra. Here it is:

I also bought a craft mag from a newsagents because it had a beautiful flower fairy stamp with it. I definitely recommend that you look out for it and buy it, i cant wait to use the stamp, and there are some fantastic cards in it.

I also bought a necklace and a pair of earrings from a charity shop, you gotta love charity shops for random finds. And again here are more photo's lol!

I am so tired this morning lol! Last night at work was pretty much bedlam, the roof in the stock room has about 8 leaks in it, so the other girl that I work with, and myself were run ragged having to keep emptying the buckets underneath. Not a nice job I can tell you. That, on top of putting out stock, about 10 boxes of crisps, and filling up the beer fridge, and serving customers too. Life's great eh?

On a good point I only have 4 more avon orders to deliver whooop!

Rainy Day

Just a quick update, I'm making myself keep this blog going. Its not that I dont want to, I just seem to forget to post lol!

The weather is awful lately, or weird, as in rain then sun then rain again! Today it keeps raining for a few minutes then stopping again, and I need to go out, I'm hoping to dodge these showers lol!

The being an Avon rep is going okay, I've sorted out (touch wood) the problems I've been having, and I've got a new area manager who seems better than the last one.
This campaign I've made £63...something, I know it doesnt seem that great but I'm just starting out and I hope to build on that :)

I haven't made any cards since the other day, i want to, but i need to get all the Avon orders out, and collect the money in. Ah well I will make time eventually.

Ismaki Challenge

So over the past few weeks I've been searching the web and finding loads of wonderful craft blogs, which are really inspiring for me, and have helped me to get my oomph back.

I've even created my very first challenge card, which was a sketch off Ismaki, http://ismaki.wordpress.com/

i'm not sure if I like the card I made or not, its definitely different from what I usually make, well whatever here it is.

And so I became an avon lady!

Yes you read the title right. As of a few weeks ago I am now an avon rep, and boy has it been a struggle so far.

Firstly an avon sales leader came to see me, and explained, extremely briefly, what she felt I needed to know about Avon, then gave me brochures, a calling book, her number and left.

So off I went, happily posting books through doors on my road. Only to discover that my road is already assigned to another rep (never mind the fact I've never, ever had a book from her) and that I'd been trespassing! I tried several times to get in touch with both my sales leader and the area manager without much success, and in the end I actually bumped into my roads' rep while she was dropping off orders. So I met her, and explained and she was fine about it, so I collected in my books, with a few orders, and that was that.

The area manager got in touch, gave me my own territory (god that sounds weird eh!) and all sanity was restored! Whoop!

However this campaign I've had some newbie rep steal an entire roadsworth of customers from me, because her leader misinformed her (surprise, surprise!) So in the end good old me had to sort that out also, with no help whatsoever from the very people who are supposed to help me.
I've said to the new rep that she can keep the orders she got (which I dont have to do by the way, i can demand she hands them over) And that she must not do my territory again!

So all in all i have a sales leader and area manager who are near to impossible to get in touch with, and yes I've met a few rude people, but I think Avon might just be worth it. I just hope I never have an emergency because I'd be stuffed for help.

Anyway dont be put off by my rambling, Avon is good, if you have people above you who actually answer their phone! They have great products and you get to meet some lovely people. I didnt believe all the hype about "making new friends" through avon, but I think it does help you get to know people who live near you.

Oh and if anyone happens to see this and lives in leyland, lancashire, feel free to message me if you want any avon products I'll happily try to get a book to you :)

(I know this has absolutely nothing to do with crafting, but its my blog so nerh!)

It's nearly Christmas!

So it's not long till christmas now! I have mixed feelings about it to be honest, I dont really have that xmas feeling yet, you know, that happy glow inside? Maybe only children or people with young kids feel like that. Ah well lol!

A little update

I love fireworks, I really do, I love all the colours, and sparks, and whistles and bangs, but I do worry about the fireworks that get into the hands of irresponsible, idiotic teenagers. All I can do is make sure that none of the fireworks that I sell at work are not to teens.

Anyway on a happier note, I have officially starting my christmas pressie shopping today. I've bought ...let me just count lol... four pressies... I think. Gosh that doesnt sound a lot when I think about it. Eek.

I'm going to take some photo's of the cards that I've made, hopefully, tomorrow, so I'll put them on here as soon as possible :)
